The hidden Himalayan biosphere, Neora

Patches of warm sunlight inevitably replaced by the eerie winter mist where warmth is almost always a gamble in the astounding natural landscape of the Himalayan foothills… in winter.

Just like the beginning of any new year, you never know what lies ahead, but with certainty you can expect the usual joys and challenges. So instead, why not begin the year with a challenge that hosts a reward of certain joy and lead the year with a test created by yourself.

The Neora Valley National Park in India’s Eastern Himalayan region of Mt. Kanchenjunga is one of the worlds most pristine ecoregions and an abundant biodiversity hotspot. While virgin forest biodiversity delivers wilderness bliss, its topography of steep ascents, dense forest patches and extreme remoteness is a task to offbeat trail navigation, include the winter and you have yourself a challenge.

Riverside leisure in between treks.

Most Himalayan hiking trails include tea house accommodations at remote villages between destinations encouraging a more expedition style of planning but not restricted to it, giving seasoned hikers the possibility of a self-planned alpine style experience. While common and frequently used trails leave a recognisable path the untouched landscape within the Neora Valley National Park require both alpine and expedition planning creating a complete adventure experience.

YELLOW UMBRELLA™ is a an “experience tourism” operator, that includes Nature, People, Culture and Tradition at destinations worldwide which connects the intricate elements that each destination possesses creating a complete experience. One such focus element is the importance of involving local communities, local operators and businesses at each destination creating a natural and in-depth experience for guests who are led by the natives of the land.
